Had a great time with friends here eating and drinking at the outside patio. It was hot hot hot, but under their covering it was very comfortable. Our server was excellent and we enjoyed a range of nice appetizers, beers and cocktails. I had the biggest pours of beers in my flight that I think I had ever experienced and I loved them all. Our entrees were all good and we left with full bellies. The inside dining area was quite large, but we only stayed outside. Most definitely recommend!
We were greeted by a young man and girl who made us feel very welcome. It’s a nice set up and has comfortable seating. There’s a huge selection of draft beers, which is impressive. We got the sampler appetizer, wings & fried pickles were especially great. The mushroom Swiss angus burger my friend ordered was excellent . I had the encrusted salmon entree , which was burnt (and tasted burnt) around the outer edges and overcooked, it seemed to be good quality salmon, anyway, but disappointing lack of flavor. The lemon orzo was very good, as was the asparagus. The server was okay, she could have been a bit friendlier.
Food smelled amazing as it was delivered to another table which prompted my ordering of the same dish (Steak platter) and my awesome dinner companion ordered the chicken quesadilla. My steak platter was lacking in flavor and the steak was a horrible cut. Very very chewy and rubbery. When I was asked how everything was I explained it to the woman who asked and she apologized but did nothing to offer to correct or replace it. Each person who asked me how my meal was got the same rendition, including the manager, no one offered to replace the meal even early on. The quesadilla was excellent and I wish I would have had that. Visited before the new owners and experience was 1 to 2 stars at best. This new ownership did awesome with the revamp. Just need a better cut of meat and might want to consider making it right for the customers who might not be happy. Service was overall really good. Moderately priced and a awesome atmosphere.. I’ll give ‘em another shot. 6/20 (update): Service started out slow and I had to ask a few times for sweetener for our drinks. Ended out great. Had the Droughthouse Burger… (Holycrap, awesome) finally found a local place that serves an awesome burger. She had a Plain Jane. (She enjoyed it as well. I will enjoy the other half tomorrow for lunch). If only they could get more help to round out their new place… Very very impressive… Not much for making things right though when they fall short. Can’t have it all I guess. Food so far outweighs the lacking of staff. More to come…
I’ve been here a few times now. Each time the food was delicious and came in a timely manner. The entrees are reasonably priced and the wait staff are always incredibly kind. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied. The building is beautiful whether you sit inside or outside. Check this place out if you’re in the area. They also have drinks and live music. Can’t say enough positive things about Angry Dad!
Had a great time outside near the Boat Bar. New cover for the patio area so much larger shelter for the inclement weather we had today. Burgers and Ahi tuna burger were great. Very nice fries and good onion rings. Really liked the French Onion soup. Large wings with good selection of flavors. Good value for money and great service.
We hosted a family event for 19. The manager Jess was very responsive to our calls, emails and on site visits. They listened to our vision and expectations for this (our first full family event) and executed the set up, serve and food flawlessly. On the night of our dinner, the restaurant was very busy. The pre ordered appetizers were delivered on time at the start of the event and were delicious. Our server (Anna) was supported by 3 other staff members so dishes were cleared quickly, drink refills returned fast. Great job Anna! Our off the menu ordering allowed us to order exactly what each of us wanted for dinner. I chose the filet medium rare and was not disappointed. Cooked perfectly, excellent taste. Based on feedback from the family, the kitchen did a great job handling the food for our group while the main restaurant and bar were busy. Most of our family lives in central Jersey and will dine here again. Note: Photos were taken during set up of the Guinness room. Not final.
Honest review from long time customer: Came tonight for their new and improved happy hour menu and will say the drink prices on HH can’t be beat and I likely will be coming for just that for the remainder of the summer. I have been enjoying this bar since I turned 21 nearly 10 years ago. It has long been the communal watering hole but has avoided the “townie” feel, keeping things fresh with live music, fun games, new additions to the back yard and ever changing setups inside. I would have given them a 5 star review up until recently. They did a rebrand to incorporate a partnership with Angry Dad Brewing and made some changes (including price increases) and it just seems like the new brand has made Draught House lose a bit of the charm that everyone loved so much for so many years. It’s hard to truly identify what specifically has led to the vibe shift, but it is obvious by the personnel and lack of enthusiasm from the employees that the new culture and management style is a little disappointing. Nevertheless, I will come here and enjoy it until they give me a real reason not to. Just a shame that it went from a crowd favorite to an average-at-best bar almost overnight.
Huge inside eating area, outdoor area with a legit stage, 40 beers on tap, and good food. Nicely done Fluke Special. The burger was solid. Bartender was fabulous and helpful. Will go back for sure. The inside has a really smart and roomy layout.
